Lining up your ship so that these numbers overlap will maximise the chance of a direct hit. In Silent Hunter 5 your tactical map will show the trajectories of your torpedo and the targeted ship, and each trajectory has several numbered reticles. Launching a torpedo at a moving target means you need to aim ahead of the target, and unless you're at point-blank range, a hit can be difficult to achieve. Ubisoft has tried to make things easier when aiming and firing. The tactical map now appears in periscope view, which gives you the benefit of being able to see the overall strategy while targeting enemies. The best way to attack targets is to use stealth to flank enemy units and attack them from behind, and when you're ready to attack, use the periscope view. There's a trade-off between remaining undetected and gathering information on your enemies' whereabouts, and if you're spotted, you'll need to balance speed and stealth to get out of there alive. At full throttle you are easily detected, but if you slow to a near stop, then this radius will be reduced dramatically. A second radius shows their hydrophone range (the range at which they can hear your sub). Enemy ships appear with a black arrow indicating heading, and they are encircled by a grey radius that represents the limit of their detection range. Then drop this new video back into Vegas and slow it down to 0.5 speed. Slow it down to the limit of 0.250 first and then render your video to 60fps. If you need to slow any video down below this value, like 0.125, you will need to do a TWO STEP process. Since making this tutorial, I have discovered that Vegas can only be slowed down to a minimum of 0.250 Speed. Method One can be used in both Vegas Pro and Movie Studio. Then enter the playback speed rate from the right column into the Playback Rate box. Find the original frame rate in the left column that matches your source video. ![]() Here is a quick reference speed conversion chart you can use. This method is the quickest way to slow down your video very accurately, each and every time. You can manually change the playback speed within the Video Event Properties box for the video. ![]() ![]() There are three different ways you can slow down video with Sony Vegas Pro and two ways with Sony Movie Studio Platinum. The main advantage of shooting video at these higher rates, is that it gives you the ability to create very smooth and clean slow motion video effects, once you slow the video down using the tools in Sony Vegas and Movie Studio. To get the best quality slow motion video, you should be aiming to reduce your original high frame video back down to a standard frame rate like 24p, 25p or 30p. Some of the newest cameras like the Go Pro Hero 3 Black Edition can now shoot at 1280x720-100p and 1280x720-120p. Many modern video cameras and DSLR cameras can shoot in frame rates above 24, 25 and 30 fps, like 50 fps and 60 fps (frames per second). In this tutorial I show how to accurately slow down high frame rate video using Sony Vegas Pro and Sony Movie Studio Platinum. ![]() ![]() ![]() TIRO had been commissioned by Microsoft typography to design extensions to its Segoe UI typeface, used throughout the new Metro UI of Windows 8 and other products. But if this header doesn’t change much and making the image is trivial, and you’re not replacing ALL your headers but just a few things here and there, Gilder-Levin is the least bandwidth (if transparency exists in the image, or if the image is too small to cover up all the text (like with icons) then Gilder-Levin is not the technique for you).A few months after I had helped John Hudson of TIRO with the Aldhabi typeface, another collaboration arose. There’s also the usual Cufon, Typekit, sIFR and stuff. Left: 0 (this because the span is after the other children (text) of the h1… if it’s first, most browsers will have top and left set to 0 as a default… not a default I trust tho)īackground: url(theimage.png) 0 0 no-repeat If this weren’t a natural block as h1’s are, but something inline, then you’ll need to set it to display: block first as well. Set your desired “non-image” look: colour, backup fonts, etc. Notice this may suck huge donkey balls if your user needs to enlarge the text but don’t zoom. This, because your image will be in pixels. You’ll probably want to set a height and width in pixels. ![]() The h1 must be relatively positioned so it can be a reference for the span child: It typically needs an extra element (though if you didn’t care about IE6 and 7, you could instead use a pseudo child element like :before or :after) as a “sandbag”. This technique places an image absolutely on top of existing (and styleable for users with CSS on but images off/doesn’t load) text. Google actually doesn’t have a problem with image replacement (similarly, Matt Cutts has explained that moving text offscreen for accessibility reasons also will not get punished… they just won’t say what technique they use to tell genuine reasons from cloaking), but the second point is a good one: no image, no text for the sighted user on a graphical browser. But I also read Google warning against trying to hide text and if images are disabled, users will see no heading text. The last book I read on CSS was recommending using text-indent: -9999px. I’ve done it for clients who’ve paid too much money for a custom font in their logo, only to discover they’ll never convince their visitors to shell out money to download it on their machines too : ) So I’m considering Image replacement - just putting my segoe ui light text on the header background image directly. This font I don’t have on my computer at all. So for that reason, you know only people who’ve either downloaded that font or downloaded/bought an application that uses that font (like, M$ Office software tends to come with many fonts if the user buys or downloads those) will be able to see it in their browsers. So if your machine has that font and some of your browsers aren’t showing it, it’s a matter of playing around with your browsers’ config files so they know where to grab that font. Although also the browsers have a folder usually that either contains their fonts, or points to fonts on your system. The current Firefox and older IE’s don’t seem to have that font. ![]() |
